Reminders of dhikr in Saudi Arabia

Dhikr is the easiest ibadah, and one with very high rewards. Allah promises in Quran:

[002.152] Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me.

In Saudi Arabia, you can find certain words of remembrance written on public places, such as La ilaha illah, subhanaAllah, allah-o-akbar, salli alaa Muhammad, or astaghfar. There are boards erected by the government on roads and highways, some paintings on public places, some decorative structure on private buildings, stickers on petrol pumps, cars, elevators and public places, and audio-prompts in grocery stores or medical stores which play when you open the door. One of the Pakistani restaurants in my neighborhood has this sticker on their refrigerator ‘dagaik intezar, amlaha bil astaghfar’ (One minute’s wait, Use it for astaghfar) I found it very relevant and amusing. Yesterday, I bought the same sticker and placed it on the trunk of my car. Hoping it will remind dhikr to some people when they are waiting on a traffic light. I will get equal rewards to what other people will do when reminded by this.

I receieved a marriage proposal and my friend went to hajj to pray for me. I have also been making loads of dua. Is my dua likely to be accepted?

You should do istikhara for this proposal which is a sunnah way to seek good counsel from Allah. You just need to offer two rakah sunnah prayer, and recite the duaa which is mentioned in the following post. After that Allah will guide you to the outcome which is best for you.

Based on Allah's wisdom, there is a time for all events to take place. The best policy is to be patient and wait.
